TenAsys Corporation Announces INtime® Version 2.2

Munich, Germany (Microsoft Developers Conference) – March 17, 2003 – TenAsys Corporation announces immediate availability of its newest release of INtime software version 2.2, an award winning real-time operating system for Windows XP.

New features of INtime software v2.2 include the addition of Real-time Shared Libraries, or RSLs, which are the functional equivalent of the Windows Dynamically Loaded Libraries, or DLLs, commonly found in Windows XP. With RSLs users may now write and share commonly used applications and subroutines between any number or real-time processes, relieving the programmer from linking redundant copies of their shared code. Also included in INtime v2.2 is support for the development of USB clients, and USB host control drivers for OHCI, UHCI and EHCI (USB 2.0) devices. This new feature set allows INtime systems to tightly integrate high performance serial devices with common USB interface hardware.

INtime v2.2 also includes new tools to enhance the productivity and performance of real-time systems. INscope is a new timing acquisition and display resource, instrumented at the core of the INtime real-time OS. Programmers can use this analysis subsystem to time stamp entry and exits of major API calls and interrupt handlers, in order to determine the exact sequence and precise timing of their real-time code execution. INscope can be directed by a Windows control and display application or by the real-time code itself, using the INscope API. Version 2.2 also includes Visual Studio .NET enhancements for wizards and context sensitive help.

The INtime RTOS for Windows is based on the industrial hardened real-time operating system technology of iRMX®, originally developed by Intel. INtime is the only truly robust, industrial grade real-time operating system environment enabling real-time control of Windows XP and Windows 2000 platforms. With INtime software, users write and run real-time applications as fully protected user-mode code in their own isolated virtual machine, along side Windows. This environment allows for real-time applications to be loaded dynamically, and managed as you would expect from a fully-featured OS.

TenAsys Corporation specializes in real-time software and services based on the embedded computer industry’s most popular processor and operating system technologies. Today, TenAsys provides the greatest value to embedded developers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with the only line of real-time operating systems designed and optimized specifically for the Intel x86 architecture and Microsoft Windows software.
